The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2016. The Certificate of Achievement is a prestigious national award-recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports.
In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by GFOA, a governmental unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report with contents conforming to program standards. Such reports must satisfy both Generally Accepted Accounting Principals and applicable legal requirements.
A Certificate of Achievement is valid for one year only. The Parish has received this award each year for the 26-year period ended December 31, 2016.
The 2017 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is now available online. This report is designed to provide a general overview of the finances of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury for all those with an interest in the Parish's finances. The 2018 report will be available in the summer of 2019.
