Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Appoints Mark Senegal, Jr. As Interim District 1 Police Juror

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury appointed Mark Senegal, Jr. as interim District 1 Police Juror at its Oct. 3 meeting.
He was sworn in by Sam Gabb, the Police Jury’s legal counsel,.
Senegal has served on the Moss Bluff Economic Development Board since 2016 and he is also an active member of the Moss Bluff Civic Club. A small business owner in the area for the past 16 years, Senegal now owns and operates Play Makers Prints, LLC and works as the general manager of Bayou Magic Family Fun Center in Moss Bluff. He also serves as a consultant for athletes and young entrepreneurs.
Senegal has worked with several non-profit organizations and churches promoting community and humanitarian events statewide. Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser named Senegal as an honorary Louisiana Ambassador, in recognition of his leadership in the state tourism industry.
Senegal and his wife, Heather, have four children.
“I am very honored to serve the residents of District 1. Even though this position is temporary, I look forward to working with the other jurors to make a difference in Calcasieu Parish,” he said. District 1 includes portions of the Moss Bluff area and Ward 1.
A new District 1 juror will be chosen in the Oct. 12 election. Senegal will serve until the new juror takes office in January 2020.
Also at the meeting, the Police Jury appointed Hal McMillin, District 14 Police Juror, to serve as vice president for the remainder of 2019.
