Small Business Summit to be Held Aug. 24
The Small Business Summit will hold a workshop on small business networking and civic responsibility for current owners and those thinking of starting a business from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Allen P. August Multi-Purpose Annex located at 2000 Moeling St. in Lake Charles.
Participants will learn the importance of networking with small businesses and local leaders to build a customer base and establish strong business relationships. Actively participating in the civic life of the community to make a positive impact on society will also be discussed.
Guest speaker will be Donnie Glyenn, a licensed banker with Hancock Whitney Bank. He has a wealth of business knowledge and believes that networking and active citizenship are key to business success. Planners and sponsors of the Small Business Summit series include the LCNRA, Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, SOWELA Technical Community College, Louisiana Small Business Development Center-MSU, Hancock Whitney Bank, The SEED Center Incubator, Lab Design Group and local entrepreneurs.
The LCNRA is a political sub-division established by the Louisiana Legislature in 2010. Its mission is to explore, create, and implement initiatives that will result in the building of a redeveloped and revitalized Lake Charles North through the introduction of new and renewed developments/ strategies/plans to strengthen and mobilize the community.
Through the Small Business Summit, the Lake Charles North Redevelopment Authority (LCNRA) partners with others to encourage a spirit of entrepreneurship in the district.
