Alligator Park Closed Due to Flooding

Park is expected to reopen Monday, Jan. 14

Post Date:01/03/2019

Alligator Park is now closed due to flooding. According to the National Weather Service, significant flooding is expected along portions of the Sabine and Calcasieu rivers.

Police Jury staff will continue to monitor the condition of the park. It will reopen when floodwaters recede and cleanup is complete. At this time, the park is expected to reopen Monday, Jan. 14.

The park, located off LA 109 near the Sabine River, was damaged by flooding in 2016 and 2017. It reopened in August of 2018.

At this time, no other parks are expected to close.

Residents with questions are asked to call Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Facility Management at 337-721-3540.
