Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Opens Temporary Satellite Office in Sulphur
Because of the heavy traffic caused by the I-210 Bridge construction, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has opened a satellite office at the Post Oak Pavilion, 2911 Post Oak Road, in Sulphur.
The following departments will have employees at this location to serve residents:
- Department of Planning and Development:Employees will be there to issue permits, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday
- Office of Juvenile Justice Services: Probation officers will be able to meet with residents by appointment only.
“The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is very aware of how inconvenient the bridge repairs will be for our residents,” said Judd Bares, Police Juror. “All of the jurors, along with staff, have been very engaged in trying to head off any issues that may prevent us from providing the services that people depend on day-to-day. We feel that this satellite office will keep things moving along for everyone during the bridge repairs.”
This satellite office will be open for the duration of the I-210 Bridge construction, which is expected to last close to a year. While this office is open, the Post Oak Pavilion will not be available to the public for rental purposes.
The bridge project, which began Jan. 8, includes re-decking the bridge over Prien Lake, barrier upgrades, additional lighting and an inspection walkway.
