Calcasieu River, English Bayou Now Open to Recreational Boat Traffic
Waterways have been closed since Friday due to heavy rains in SWLA's northern parishes
The Calcasieu River and English Bayou are now open to recreational boat traffic.
Dick Gremillion, Director of the Calcasieu Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, said the river level has receded and all restrictions have been lifted.
OHSEP issued an Emergency Declaration to close the Calcasieu River - north from the Saltwater Barrier to the Allen Parish line - and the English Bayou at noon on March 3 due to the effects that heavy rains in Southwest Louisiana's northern parishes were having on the river's levels.
