ETC LogoThe Office of Juvenile Justice Services contracts with various local providers to provide counseling and programs services for the families of Calcasieu Parish. Many of the services are provided free of charge, and include:

Child Abuse Counseling
This program works with juveniles who have been identified, through Families in Need of Services (FINS) or other pre-adjudicatory processes, as victims of child abuse and are now displaying negative behavior patterns. The counselor works with these juveniles to identify problems and establish a continuum of service treatment plans that help the clients recover from the effects associated with violence and abuse.

Anger Management Group
Anger management groups are offered through our family services contract with the Educational and Treatment Council, Inc. This is an eight-week, multi-family educational group whose major focus is parent-child conflict.

Substance Abuse Group
Substance abuse groups are offered through our family services contract with the Educational and Treatment Council, Inc. This is a six-week, multi-family, closed, educational process oriented group. The major focus is on the parent or child with substance abuse issues. If needed, families may be referred to the Office for Addictive Disorders for additional after-care support.

Functional Family Therapy (FFT)
This evidence based program provides intensive services based on a well-documented and highly successful family intervention model. The program is designed for at-risk youth ages 11-18 and their families, including youth with problems such as conduct disorder, violent acting-out, and substance abuse. Referrals may be youth on formal probation or in pre-court diversion status. Please visit www.fttinc.com for further information on FFT.

Harbour House Children’s Shelter
