Claude A. Syas is serving his first term as Police Juror of District 4.  Claude and his wife, Johnnie, have two daughters, Trekessa Moore and Brandi Syas, and one grandchild, Whitney Moore.  Claude has been employeed by Conoco Phillips for 25 years.

Mr. Syas serves as President of USW Local 13-555 representing Conoco Phillips and Sasol.  He is a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he is a member of the Holy Name Society and Chairman of the Youth Ushers. 

Claude is a member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Council #141 and Vernon W. Joseph Assembly #22 Fourth Degree Knights of St. Peter Claver.  He is a member of the NAACP, 100 Black Men of Metro Lake Charles, A. Phillip Randolph Institute, La Krewe des Gen Extraordinaire, United Way Pillars Club, and the Southwest Louisiana Central Labor Council.

Claude has spent the last 30 years coaching boys football and baseball, and girls basketball and softball.  He spends his spare time with family and friends, and playing golf.

Committees: Public Works, Ways and Means, Agenda (Vice Chair), Personnel Policy Review, and Wastewater Study.

Mr. Syas represents District 4, which is a portion of Ward 3 that includes areas in east Lake Charles mostly south of Broad St., west of 4th Avenue and north of Prien Lake;  also a portion of Ward 8 south of I-10, east of La. 387, north of McCown Rd., and west of Boys Village Rd.
