At its Regular meeting
on September 6th, the Police Jury approved a
Long-Term
Community Recovery Plan (LTCR) for Calcasieu Parish.
The plan was prepared in accordance with a
request from the Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA),
and all parishes affected by Hurricane Rita or
Hurricane Katrina will be required to submit LTCR
plans.
The vision, strategic
goals, and proposed projects in the parish plan all
originated from work done by a LTCR Steering
Committee and work groups following a tremendous
amount of input from the public in the aftermath of
Hurricane Rita.
The Police Jury staff
will present the plan to the LRA Board at its
meeting on September 11th at the Lake Charles Civic
Center at 9:00 a.m.
