On Friday, February 21,
2003, the Diggers and Weeders Garden Club donated a
gem magnolia tree to the Police Jury. The tree
was planted on the north side of the Calcasieu
Parish Courthouse.

The
Diggers and Weeders Club is a local club that was
organized in 1954 with a membership of a little less
than 20. Their goal is to help beautify their
community and serve on the Clean City Committee.
They donate a special tree once a year to different
organizations throughout the Lake Charles area.
The
Police Jury sincerely thanks the Club for their
donation of the magnolia tree.
