On January 21st,
a public hearing was held at the Parish Government
Building to receive a report from the Prien Lake
Park Development Task Force regarding proposed uses
of the park, and to receive input from the public on
desired park elements. The citizens’
task force,
appointed by the Police Jury last Summer, has worked
for several months to develop ideas for the park,
which was enlarged with the acquisition of 20
additional acres by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury
in 2000.
The Task Force's
presented their recommendations to the Jury at the Police Jury's
Public Works Committee Meeting on February 27, 2003.
The Police Jury is
scheduled to take action on the report at it's March
6th regular meeting. For more information on
