The
Calcasieu Parish Public Library system welcomed
Jeffrey A. Rippel as its new library director at
a reception held on November 14, 2002. Mr.
Rippel was chosen by the Calcasieu Parish Public
Board of Trustees in August, 2002.
Born and raised in
Moberly, Missouri, Rippel earned a Bachelor's Degree
in English and Humanities from Florida State
University in 1967. After military service, he
earned a Master's Degree at the Graduate Library
School, University of Texas in 1973.
Mr. Rippel commented,
"The Calcasieu Parish Public Library is a public
library system that is held in highest esteem by the
citizens of Southwest Louisiana, the State of
Louisiana, and the American Public Library
community. So it is my highest honor to be
here to serve you."
