Phase one of the Police
Jury’s project to expand Prien Lake Park continues,
and is expected to be complete by the end of May.
This construction phase is for infrastructure work
including drives and parking, sewer and water
tie-ins, and drainage items.
The bid for phase-two
construction is scheduled to be let by early summer,
and will be the largest segment of this multi-year
project. This phase will include many park features
such as walking paths, picnic pavilions, children’s
playground area, children’s waterplay area, small
amphitheater area, flag plaza, an indoor pavilion,
and an open air pavilion.
“With construction
underway, we have received a lot of inquiries about
the project,” says Bryan Beam, Assistant Parish
Administrator. “The feedback from citizens has been
very positive about what the Police Jury is doing,
and there is clearly a lot of excitement surrounding
the project.”
