CPPJ Website Has New Look

March 8, 2002

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has recently launched its new and improved website.  Bryan Beam, Assistant to the Administrator says that "The revamped site has been designed with an emphasis on visual appeal and ease of navigation."

From the home page, visitors can click onto any number of services from how to get a beer and liquor permit to how to adopt a pet.  Some items of importance on the site include a quick reference section, a Police Juror phone list, a meeting calendar, meeting minutes and agendas, maps, and an organizational chart.  There is also a section  including a search engine that contains Calcasieu Parish's Code of Ordinances.  Forms can now be downloaded, such as a park rental agreement or a job application.  A constituent an easily locate which district they live in simply by accessing any of the online detailed Police Jury district maps.

Other features:

  • A map of parish parks and boat launches with links to information and photos of each.

  • A feedback form for residents' questions and comments.

  • Demographic information on the parish.

  • A teacher resource section.

  • A list of parish departments, from Mosquito Control to Juvenile Justice, and how to contact each.

  • The history of Calcasieu Parish from its creation in 1840.

  • Links to other websites, like those for local cities, McNeese State University and local media.

The website was designed by StructureX of Lake Charles and will be updated by the parish staff.  Please contact them at administration@cppj.net with any questions or comments.
