16th Annual Christmas Tree Recycling Project

 

December 15, 2006

 

This year the Christmas trees will be used for one project site in Calcasieu Parish located at Turner’s Bay. 

Monday, January 8, 2007 is the deadline for trees to be dropped off at the following 20- designated drop off sites or curb (if available).

Public Drop off sites (temporary)

Lake Charles  - University Park, Huber Park, Martin Luther King Park, Prejean Park & curbside

Sulphur -   Sulphur Industrial Park ( Smith Rd & E. Burton St)

Westlake -  Waste Water Plant at 2200 Carlin Street

Iowa -  Iowa City Park

Vinton -  Vinton City Hall

DeQuincy  -  DeQuincy City Hall

Jeff Davis Parish- 855 Hwy. 90 (JimBill’s office in Roanoke)

 

Beauregard Parish-   Walmart on Hwy. 171 in DeRidder

Town of Merryville Pine Street (in front of City Barn)   

Calcasieu Parish   (unincorporated areas)

Moss Bluff - 461 Parish Road

Bell City – 7085 Hwy. 14 East

South Lake Charles – 5500A Swift Plant Road

Carlyss –corner of Hwy. 27 & Dave Dugas Rd. (Cameron Communications)

            Starks - 129 3rd Street

            DeQuincy - 1275 Plum Street

            Vinton - 1129 Eddy Street

            LeBleu Settlement - 1726 Parish Barn Road 

This is a great way to have the community involved in coastal restoration.  We are expecting to collect 2,000 trees from the tri-parish area; and will be trucking in approximately 1,000 trees throughout the State. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Pam Mattingly at 337/721-3600.
