     The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury hosts a channel on the Cox Communication cable systems in the Lake Charles and Sulphur areas that allows citizens to view local, state, and other governmental and public affairs programming. 

     The channel is currently broadcasting “bulletin board” type announcements, and will begin featuring recorded programming later in 2002.  The Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature will be broadcast from April 29^th to June 12^th from 2:00pm until 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.

     The channel is operated by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury as a public service. In the Lake Charles area, viewers should tune to channel 63, and in the Sulphur area, the channel is 14.

      As programming is developed, plans include providing these programs to other cable systems in Calcasieu Parish.
