NOTICE OF INTENTION TO DECLARE ADJUDICATED
TAX PROPERTY SURPLUS AND TO SELL SAME UNDER
THE PROVISIONS OF LSA-R.S. 33:4720.10 ET SEO
AND LSA-R.S. 33:4712.
Notice is hereby given that the Calcasieu Parish
Police Jury has received a request to declare the
following listed property surplus and no longer
needed for public purposes. These properties have
previously been adjudicated to the Parish of
Calcasieu for unpaid taxes. Anyone wanting to offer
a higher price for the property, or wanting to
oppose the property being declared surplus, or
wanting to oppose the sale must file a written offer
or written opposition with the Division of Planning
and Development, c/o Calcasieu Parish Police Jury,
at 1011 Lakeshore Drive, 7th Floor, or P.O. Drawer
3287, Lake Charles, Louisiana, 70602, by 12:00
p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2003. Anyone
wanting to offer an amount greater than the minimum
bid indicated below for the property shall submit
with their offer, a certified check or money order
in the amount of the deposit indicated below,
payable to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury by
12:00 p.m. on Thursday,
April 17, 2003.
The
Director of Planning and Development will conduct
the sale on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at 2:00
p.m. in the Parish Government Building,
which is located at 1015 Pithon Street in Lake
Charles, Louisiana. If more than one (1) offer for
any particular piece of property is received, only
all parties who have submitted an offer with the
required deposit shall be allowed to submit
additional verbal bids. The Director of Planning
and Development will submit the offers as well as
any opposition to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury
for consideration of adopting an ordinance
authorizing acceptance of the highest bid at their
meeting on Thursday, May 01, 2003 at 5:30 p.m.
in the Parish Government Building, which is located
at 1015 Pithon Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
