 The
Calcasieu Parish Animal Control and Protection
Department recently received the 2003 OUTSTANDING
ANIMAL CONTROL AGENCY AWARD given by the National
Animal Control Association. Nominations were
submitted from across the United States, and
Calcasieu Parish Animal Control was selected as
meeting the highest standards for an Animal Control
Agency. Representatives from the department accepted
the award at the National Animal Control Association
Conference in St Louis, Missouri on May 28, 2003.
The management staff brings a combined 68 years of
expertise to the department, and they actively serve
on Boards of Directors of several organizations at
the state and regional level. In addition, many of
the employees hold national Cruelty Investigator
Certifications, and have provided countless hours of
training and professional advice to other agencies.
David Marcantel (Operations Manager) and Diana
Morales (Operations Supervisor) want to thank the
staff for their dedication to professional and
humane care of animals. “With their commitment and
dedicated teamwork, we earned the Outstanding
Shelter of the Year award.”
