      AGENDA NOTE:  said property has been sold at an adjudicated property sale, and the new owners want to repair the structure and bring the house up to code.  After an inspection by the Parish Building Inspector, it has been determined that the structure is repairable.

13.   Consideration of adopting a resolution approving a Joint Services Agreement between the Police Jury, Division of Planning and Development, and the Beauregard Parish Police Jury to provide temporary inspection services at a cost of $100.00 per inspection for state mandated building codes, and further, authorizing the President of the Police Jury, or his designee, when appropriate, to execute all documents related thereto.

 

14.     Receive presentation from staff with reference to the Police Jury’s LPDES Phase II Storm Water Permit as it relates to the adoption of a new Small MS4 Storm Water Ordinance.

 

15.  Consideration of approval of proposed revisions to the Parish’s Solid Waste Management Manual to remove provisions that do not apply parishwide. 

 

16. Consideration of adopting a resolution accepting the low bid in the amount of $324,517.60 of F. Miller Construction, LLC, for State Project No. 744-10-0018; Federal Aid No. ENH-1003(531) (Park Road Sidewalk approximately 1300' north of Recreation Boulevard and ending at Pine Cone Drive), and further, that the President of the Police Jury, or his designee, when appropriate, be authorized to execute all documents related thereto. 

 

         AGENDA NOTE: the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development received bids for this project and has requested our approval.

 

17. Consideration of adopting a resolution authorizing the Director of the Office of Juvenile Justice Services to negotiate the terms and conditions for the renewal of a contract between the Police Jury and the Educational and Treatment Council, Inc. (ETC) for an amount up to $26,665 for the provision of child abuse counseling services to juveniles who are victims of crime, and should additional funds become available, the contract can be amended to increase this amount, and further, that the President of the Police Jury, or his designee, when appropriate, be authorized to execute all documents related thereto.

 

18. Consideration of authorizing the execution of agreements by the Parish Administrator for the renewal of leases with tenants and users of the Magnolia Building, in accordance with parameters established by the Police Jury Liaison Group for such purpose.

 

19. Consideration of adopting a resolution approving an Amendment to the Lease Agreement with the Southwest Louisiana Partnership for Economic Development to modify the space leased within the Magnolia Building, and approving the renewal of the lease for a one-year term beginning March 1, 2007, for the Business Incubator of Southwest Louisiana.

 

20. Consideration of adopting a resolution authorizing the Housing Department to submit its Streamlined Annual Plan for Fiscal Year 2007, and further, authorizing the President of the Police Jury, or his designee, when appropriate, to execute all documents related thereto.

 

21. Consideration of accepting the Re-Roofing of Calcasieu Parish Health Unit Annex (Coroner’s Office) as substantially complete.

 

EMERGENCY ITEMS

REGULAR MEETING – FEBRUARY 15, 2007

 

The following items were received after the agenda was faxed out on February 9, 2007, and will require a two-thirds vote to suspend the rules for consideration by the Police Jury:

 

Item No. One:

 

Consideration of adopting a resolution of recognition to the West Calcasieu Parish Community Center Authority for their success in getting the Louisiana Rodeo Cowboys Association State Finals Rodeo at their facility on February 22-24, 2007.

 

AGENDA NOTE:  this is the first time in a 40-year history of the LRCA that the finals have been staged anywhere in South Louisiana.

Consideration of adopting a resolution approving the submittal of a request for a grant in the amount of $450,000 through State Representative Brett Geymann to be forwarded or submitted to all appropriate state agencies for the purposes of lengthening the Coffey Road bridge and the engineering and environmental services related thereto, and further, authorizing the President of the Police Jury, or his designee, when appropriate, to execute all documents related thereto.

Consideration of adopting a resolution approving an agreement between the Police Jury and H. Curtis Vincent-Steven D. Shows, Architects, for their professional architectural services related to hurricane repairs at LaFleur Park, and further, authorizing the President of the Police Jury, or his designee, when appropriate, to execute all documents related thereto.

Consideration of accepting the New Horizontal Pressure Filter and Controls, Filter and Controls Installation at Waterworks District No. Five of Wards Three and Eight as substantially complete.
