Bronze Tag Division

• To obtain the Bronze Bag Tag, a player must first pass a basic written test that includes etiquette, facility guidelines, and procedures.
• Be able to demonstrate some acquired skills in putting. A putting test would include making 3 out of 5 putts from 3 feet, making 2 out of 5 putts from 6 feet and 1 out of 5 putts from 10 feet.
• Must have at least one golf lesson or golf clinic from Program Instructor.
• Any player who obtains the Bronze Bag Tag will earn the privilege of using the practice putting greens at any of the designated golf courses. Free of Charge!
• Bronze Bag Tag Holder will now be qualified to proceed to the next level in order to work towards obtain a Silver Bag Tag.

Silver Tag Division

• To obtain a Silver Bag Tag, the player must pass a written test that includes basic rules of golf, etiquette and features of a golf course. The player will have to demonstrate acquired skills of several different types of chipping shots.
• Be able to pass a putting test. A putting test would include making 3 out of 5 putts from 3 feet, making 3 out of 5 putts from 6 feet, and 1 out of 5 putts from 10 feet.
• The player will also have to show an ability to make a full swing and make contact with some consistency.
• Any player who obtains a Silver Bag Tag will earn the privilege of using the practice facilities (driving range and practice greens) at any of the designated golf courses. Free of Charge!
• A Silver Bag Tag Holder will now be qualified to proceed to the next level in order to work towards obtaining a Gold Bag Tag.

Gold Tag Division

• Players will obtain a more thorough knowledge of the Rules of Golf, especially focusing on water hazards, bunkers out of bounds, lost ball, dropping equipment marking and replacing, and scoring.
• Players must practice one time per week for one hour for eight consecutive weeks on a driving range.
• Must take a minimum of ten (10) lessons from a Program Instructor.
• To obtain the Gold Bag Tag, the player must pass a written test on Rules of Golf. The player will also be required to pass a skills test on driving the ball, hitting irons, and chipping and putting.
• The player will also be required to pass a playing ability test to be conducted on short 3-hole course.
• Any player who obtains a Gold Bag Tag will earn the privilege of playing on one of the designated golf courses. Free of Charge!
• Thos individuals who achieve completion of this final level will also be allowed to attempt to qualify for the Junior Golf Program’s touring team. Each player to achieve the Gold Bag Tag will also receive a golf shirt and hat with the Junior Golf Program’s Logo.

Calcasieu Parish youth ages seven (7) to seventeen (17) are invited and encouraged to participate in these events; however, pre-registration will be required.

For additional information regarding enrollment, participation, and or registration for any of these events, please contact the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, Facility Management at (337) 721-3547, Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
