• Administer zoning, subdivision, floodplain management, junk, grass cutting and condemnation ordinances

• Enforce ordinance compliance with regard to zoning, health and safety, junk vehicles, junk items, garbage and trash, coastal construction, condemnation of unsafe structures and the electrical ordinances of Calcasieu Parish

• Prepare studies, plans, ordinances, and conduct investigations as requested by the Police Jury and concerned citizens

• Issue Development, Electrical, and Plumbing Permits for all development in the unincorporated areas of the Parish.

• Parish Development Statistics 1996-2006 (requires Adobe Acrobat)

• Floodplain management for unincorporated areas

• Coastal Zone Management for unincorporated areas

• Administer Federal, State and Local Grant Programs

• Maintain and operate parish wide municipal addressing system

• Process rezoning and variance/exception applications for presentation to the Planning and Zoning Board

• Issue occupational license and liquor license
