Sick Leave is defined as any period of time during which an employee may be
excused from work without loss of pay due to:
1. Personal Illness, injury or any other type of
physical disability.
2. Doctor and dental appointments supported by a written, signed slip
stating date and time of appointment. An employee is expected to report to
work or return to work if a reasonable amount of time is available before or
after the appointment time.
Sick leave is credited for each hour of work from an employee's date of hire
but cannot be used to pay for their first day of sick leave until an employee
has been employed for two years. However, with the departments head's
approval, an employee may be paid for sick leave after six months.
