The Calcasieu
Parish Police Jury Office of Special Projects is now
accepting applications for participation in the
newly established Calcasieu Parish Junior Golf
Program. Applications will be available at the
following sites through April 15, 2005:
Mallard Cove Course

Calcasieu youth between the ages of 7 and 17 are
eligible to apply provided they have access to
private transportation, have parental consent to
participate in the sport, show proof of family
insurance, and a desire to play the game of golf. A
non-refundable fee of $5.00 will be required along
with the application.
All youth selected for participation in the program
will be required to take weekly lessons. Financial
assistance from the program may be available for
youth who reside within low-income households.
However, written proof of the household’s income
must be attached for review and verification of need
before any financial assistance may be committed.
Income is defined as earnings from wages or salary,
non-farm self employment, social security,
dividends, interest on savings or bonds, unearned
income pensions, retirement benefits, unemployment
compensation, worker’s compensation, alimony, and
child support to determine financial assistance for
each youth.

Program guidelines
for acceptance and participation in the Calcasieu
Parish Junior Golf Program are the same for all
individuals regardless of race, color, religion,
sex, age, handicap, political beliefs, or national
origin.
